    Those Oregon Bakers….

    July 3, 2015 / 0 Comments

Here’s a question. Is it possible to love people and still turn them down? I think if you’re a parent, you can answer that question.  We can’t give our kids everything they want. We could, but if we did that, what sort of adults would they grow to be? Now obviously, someone in business and refusing a service is far different than parenting. But at least one of those questions above still applies. Can I love someone and still turn them down? Let’s see. A few years ago, I was approached to market a project by some people who very much wanted me doing their PR/Marketing. They’d heard about some…

Confessions of a Non-Comic Book Marvel Geek

    April 30, 2015 / 1 Comment

Confession: I’m not a comic book fan. I’ll start this whole article by stating that point blank. I’m very up front and honest about that no matter what sort of geekery I am spewing at the moment. I need to underscore that right now though because the geekery I’m planning to discuss is Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) related. See, about five years ago, I never ever would have imagined even going to a comic book themed film in the theaters. I grew up with DC heroes front and center for me. Superman and Batman were all over my television and in movie theaters and when I became a teenager/young adult,…

Movie Review: JOSEPH- Beloved Son, Rejected Slave, Exalted Ruler

    April 29, 2015 / 0 Comments

The story of Joseph has been a big theme in our house this year. We recently went through the story pretty thoroughly for school and then our pastor started preaching a series on it as well. So when I received a request to review this fantastic new DVD,  I told God that I got the message and accepted the offer. Many people know this story whether through Sunday School, church, or even from films. It’s a powerful tale of redemption and it shows how God can take a life that seems to be completely shattered and build it back into something beautiful. I think we all need to hear that…

    Book Review: Bird on Fire

    December 10, 2013 / 0 Comments

Bird on Fire by Jane Wells Genre: Non-Fiction, Devotional Publisher: David Crumm Media LLC Published Date: November 10, 2013 Everyone’s heard of The Hunger Games. Right now, the sequel, Catching Fire, is the number one film in the U.S. The actors are all over every news channel doing interviews and anyone connected with Hollywood is seeing them on entertainment websites. It is a full-fledged in your face phenomenon that doesn’t seem to be slowing down. This series about a young girl who has literally been sacrificed to her government in some of the most horrifyingly violent situations imaginable isn’t exactly family friendly entertainment. Though the series was written for grades…

Roma Downey and Mark Burnett’s SON OF GOD: The Trailer

    November 25, 2013 / 0 Comments

Roma Downey and Mark Burnett pulled of a feat in Hollywood last year with their amazing miniseries, The Bible. Now they’re back with a follow up (yes, a follow up) in SON OF GOD, releasing February 28, 2013. It’s the story of the life of Christ, from his humble birth, through his teachings, crucifixion and ultimately, his resurrection – and it looks fabulous! With all the time, effort and love they poured into the miniseries, it appears that they’ve done it again and I can’t wait! Here’s an exclusive trailer: http://gma.yahoo.com/video/exclusive-first-look-son-god-114908407.html?format=embed&player_autoplay=false   What do you think? Are you looking forward to it?
