Review: Breakthrough on National Geographic Channel
What happens when you give six prominent filmmakers the chance to explore subjects that are mysterious, puzzling and close to their heart? You get a television series like Breakthrough. Each week, join a filmmaker on a very personal journey to discover answers to questions that plague not only themselves, but humanity. More like science fiction than documentary, this series covers extreme situations that show us where our future may lead. Is it possible to seamlessly create robotics that work with the human body? Could a pandemic wipe out the whole of civilization? Is there a water crisis looming in front of us? My family and I received these dvds to…

A.D. 30 by Ted Dekker Genre: Historical Publisher: Center Street Date: August 4, 2015 Maviah is a woman scorned. Knitted Knockers….say what???
As many of you know, a year ago, I was in the fight of my life. I had cancer of the tongue and I had numerous surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy…it was a pretty rough journey for a while there. One of my dearest friends in the world, Genny, lived on the other side of the U.S. when I got diagnosed and it tore her up that she couldn’t be near me to help my family and I during that time. Well, God had other plans for Genny and I. During my treatment one night, she texted me that she was doing dinner for my family and asked what we wanted. I…

Slow Cooker Freezer Meals Part One
So in the past few years, I’ve developed a very co-dependent relationship on my slow cooker. I’ve come to love and adore it and I have no idea what I would do without it. A few years ago, Organized SAHM held an online cooking day where people prepped meals and froze them. I did almost a month’s worth of meals in about 10 hours. It was glorious. Those meals, because many of them had leftovers, worked for nearly eight weeks. I was completely in love with freezing and prepping meals! Now honestly, working for so long on the meals (that long long day I mentioned above) is really hard for…

Subscription Box Review: The Handy Box – The not so great review of a not so great box.
This is a really awkward review for me because, well, I don’t have a box to review. Now to be fair, The Handy Box people did not know that I was going to be writing a review of their box or the way they handle their boxes, so that needs to be said up front. However, I also don’t think I should be required to tell them that I’m going to write a review in order to get good service. I believe that every customer, whether they’re writing a review or not, is capable of sharing their story and should be treated with the utmost in respect and customer service. However, I signed…

Subscription Box Review: Bespoke Post
So this subscription box was pretty much what started it all for me. I mean I’ve always loved the idea of them in general but a bad experience with one a year or so ago made me not so interested. The thought of the box was great but when it arrived, it just wasn’t what I’d hoped it would be. So I have been hesitant to get into the boxes since then. But with my husband’s birthday coming up, I started really thinking about what might work for him as a gift. This spawned (as I mentioned earlier) from the fact that I get packages often and the others in…
